Stella's 2nd Birthday - Peppa Pig Party

If you have young children, you probably know who Peppa Pig is.  If not, let me fill you in.  Peppa Pig is a British animated tv show.  It is wildly popular in England.  It revolves around Peppa and her family and friends.  Peppa loves jumping in muddy puddles, playing with friends at school and dressing up.  Her best friend is Suzie Sheep.

You can believe that every time we visit the UK you will find Peppa Pig apparel, toys, etc. being sold everywhere.  It has been on the screens over there for years and years.  I think the first time I saw it was either when we took Lottie to visit when she was an infant or just over a year old.  When it came to the States, Lottie was so excited.  I think the accents reminded her of grandma and grandpa.

Lottie soon grew tired of Peppa Pig, but her little sister just started getting into it.  Stella loves Peppa Pig.  Of both my kids, I think Stella's accent is probably the most British.  I joke with Steve all the time about her accent.  I'm not sure whether she picks it up from him or Peppa!

With that said, I decided to throw Stella her very own Peppa Pig party.  She was so excited.  In the days leading up to the party, she kept saying, "So excited for Peppa Party!"

She had a wonderful time and I don't think it could have turned out any cuter!

Here is a look back at Stella's 2nd birthday party with all the details!

Peppa and her family are always seen driving in their red car.  It is almost impossible to find any Peppa Pig items here in the States.  However, Toys R Us does have a small selection of Peppa items.  For her birthday, I got Stella Peppa's red car and a lot of little Peppa Pig and friends figurines.

Here is a look at the snack / treat table.  Steve is the "MAN".  We had a large piece of cardboard left from his ping pong table he received for Christmas.  He used that to paint Peppa's house and background quite often seen in the show.  He free handed everything.  He was quite proud of himself and repeatedly referred to himself as "quite the artist".  :)

With it being so close to summer, I purchased these buckets/shovels at Party City and filled them with goodies for the party favors.  I also purchased Peppa Pig masks, party hats, noise makers, balloon, plates, cups from Wholesale Party Supplies.  I cracked up when I took a look at the plates.  The lettering on the plates were in Spanish!  Oh the consequences of being frugal!  :)

Muddy puddles
(chocolate pudding, Oreo cookies and sour worms)

My sister and her friend Kellan made these delicious cake pops.  They were a big hit with the kids.  Stella kept saying, "MORE, MORE, MORE!"

Grape & pineapple kabobs

I also taped a few muddy puddles to the floor.  I printed these puddles from a free printable website online.  I also printed the Peppa banner and toppers from a free printable website.  I just glued them to card stock paper I already had.

Here is another masterpiece by Steve.  He free handed Peppa and cut her out of cardboard.  He did such a great job.  This man really loves his girls!  Stella especially loved Peppa.  Every time she walked past her, she had the biggest grin on her face.

For food, I made BBQ sandwiches, pasta salad, coleslaw and chips

Grandma and Grandpa sent Stella her shirt to wear for her party!  It was a 2 piece pant set but because the weather was so warm, she ended up wearing just the shirt and a jean skirt.  It is the same jean skirt Lottie wore at her 2nd birthday party!

Ari and Stella
Stella's favorite thing in this world is swinging.  She would swing for hours if you let her.

Uncle Anthony filled water balloons for all the kids!  They had a ball playing / throwing them at one another

We also played a game called "Muddy Puddles"
Basically the kids walked around in circles until the music stopped (which by the way, we put Aunt Jeanette in charge of - pretty sure she played gangsta rap).  When the music stopped, we pulled a number from the cup and whoever was standing on that muddy puddle won a prize.  Again, I just cut out muddy puddles from a free printable site online and glued them to card stock paper.

To be fair, this game was kind of a train wreck!  By the end of it, we just gave all the kids a treat and went back to playing with water balloons!

Stella looking fed up at this game!  :)

I swear this girl will mean mug you like you have never been mean mugged before!

Peppa Pig, Suzie Sheep & Rebecca Rabbit

Stella was so cute - she sang Happy Birthday to herself and at the very end shouted, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"

Lottie!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I'm pretty sure she opened every single gift Stella received.  I don't know how many times I told her to stop so that Stella could open her own gifts, but that didn't happen.  In the end, I just gave up.  Stella didn't seem to mind anyways.

By far, Stella's favorite gift was her new potty from Aunt Amy.  She took her potty everywhere, even took it outside to sit on.  Everyone was cracking up!  This girl is definitely ready to start potty training!

By the end of the day, Stella fell asleep doing what she loves best - swinging!

Steve carried her in and laid her down, but soon after she was back up ready to go!

My nephew Carter!  How delicious is he?

That about wraps it up!  What a beautiful day for a party!  You couldn't have asked for a more perfect day!  Thanks to all of our family and friends for coming!  You made the day truly memorable for our little family.
