Strawberry Picking With The Girls

This past weekend was GORGEOUS!  It was the perfect Spring day.  My BFF Jeanette made her way to the country for a day of strawberry picking with us girls.  Unfortunately Steve had to work so he couldn't join in on the fun.

I haven't been strawberry picking in probably 20 years.  It was always something my sister and I did with my mom growing up.  I remember as a kid always having a belly ache because instead of picking the strawberries and putting them in my basket, I usually ate them all!

The girls and I went to Hall Family Farm.  It was a beautiful sight.  Life really doesn't get any better than being out in the open air picking your own fruit right off the vine.  It took Lottie a minute to figure out that we only wanted to pick the bright red ones to take home.  As soon as she did, her basket quickly filled up with the juiciest, ripest strawberries.  Stella on the other hand picked any and everything she set her eyes on.  At one point, I saw her walking down the row with a whole strawberry vine in hand!  She certainly didn't miss an opportunity to get her eat on!  Every time I turned around, she had a strawberry in her mouth!  :)

The girls and I ended up picking two large baskets of berries.  I ended up freezing about half of them to use for my smoothies in the morning.  You can't beat fresh fruit and vegetables this time of year!

After we picked strawberries and played, we went to Brixx for lunch.  It was all around a perfect day!

Bring on summer!

Girl's Day Out - Lottie

I so treasure these days out with Lottie!  Man, I love this kid!

Mom guilt (totally took Stella to daycare) so Lottie and I could have some one on one time on Cyber Monday.  Let's be honest though - looking after one child vs. two is a no brainer.  It is sooooooooooooooo much easier. And because Stella is younger, she generally takes up more of my time when we are home, so days like these are great for Lottie and I because she gets 100% of my full attention.

I usually take Cyber Monday off to shop and regroup after Thanksgiving.  Lottie and I went Christmas shopping, got her a haircut and capped it off with a mani/pedi (her first).

She loved getting her toes painted.  Every time they went to touch her feet, she would scream out "TICKLES" "TICKLES" "TICKLES".  She and I were laughing hysterically!  She got the most adorable little flower painted on her big toes.  She absolutely lit that salon up with her personality.  Everyone loves Lottie!  :)

Girl's Day Out - Go Panthers!!

Can I just tell you how much I am enjoying the age Lottie is right now?  3.5 years is by far the best age I've experienced thus far.  I want to treasure and soak up every minute with her.  She is smart, sassy, independent and most importantly has a heart of gold.  Can she stay this age forever?  Pretty please!

Last Sunday, her and I ventured out to the Panthers game.  She loves going as much as I do.  She never complains and walks miles with no fuss.  The perfect little fan.  I so enjoy our days out with one another.

Girl's Day Out - Lottie

It is rare these days that I get to spend one on one time with one of my kids!  Lottie (my first born) will always hold a very special place in my heart.  I truly love spending quality time with her.  She's funny, sassy and always (well, when she's not spitting tude) keeps a big smile on my face!

You may remember our little girl's trip we took to Pigeon Forge, TN earlier in the year.  We had a ball!  Since then, we haven't really spent any one on one time together.  So a few Sundays ago, her and I had the perfect little girl's day out!  Just the two of us!  We went to lunch, went shopping, painted pottery, ate frozen yogurt and put on a fashion show!

Here are a few pics of our girl's day out!  If you get a chance to go to Dish It Out, I highly recommend it.  I've been with girlfriends for a fun girl's night out (they serve wine) and I've taken Lottie - so really best of both worlds kind of place!  :)

Dish It Out!  I LOVE this place!
