Mother's Day 2015

How could I possibly put into words what being a mother feels like?  It is single handily the greatest thing I have ever done in my life.  These two girls have enriched my life in ways I never imagined.  I tear up just thinking about how much I love them.  They make each and every day on this earth worth living for!

I only wish I could share this day with my own mother!  Oh how I miss her so!

Both the girls and Steve took me out to lunch and cleaned up most of the house from Stella's party the day before.  It was nice not having to clean or do anything but kick my feet up!  My sister and brother in law were in town so they joined us for lunch as well.  It was my sister's first Mother's Day.

Minnie joined us for lunch as well!

This had me cracking up - My Mom is 43!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  WTH Lottie!!!  Ha!

The girls gave me their Mother's Day projects they did at school.  I just love all the poems, drawings, hand prints, etc. they pour their heart into.

The above drawing is Lottie and I!  :)

We ate lunch at Bravo over in Blakeney

My girls!  I don't even know what that face Lottie is making!  Of course, Stella just sat chugging her drink the whole time.

I love this picture - my girls love their aunt Amy

Thanks to Steve and my girls for making this Mother's Day extra special for me!

Dad's Got Moves - Just Dance Kids

There is something to be said about the relationship between dads and daughters.  Steve is head over heels in love with his girls.  With that said, he LOVES to spoil them.  It doesn't matter if it's a quick trip to Target or any store for that matter, more times than not he always comes back with something for them.

Two weekends ago during my 8 hour cleaning session, Steve took the girls to Toys R Us to run around and play.  They were in heaven by the sounds of it.  Steve sent pictures of Stella sitting in a Power Wheels car begging him to buy it for her.  The way Stella says, "Please" is probably the sweetest thing I've ever heard.  Adorable.  In any event, of course he couldn't just leave there without buying something.  So home they came with the Wii version of Just Dance Kids.

Lottie was in heaven!  She loves dancing, singing, etc.  We all had a go and I couldn't help but grab my phone during Steve's turn.  He cracks me up!  When his girls say jump, he usually asks how high.  When they say dance, he says, "Bring It".

Way to go dad!  You are the BEST!  :)

Happy Birthday Steve

Cancun, Mexico
2008

Today, I'd like to wish my hubs a very happy birthday.  I know I don't tell him like I should, but this guy is truly the most wonderful husband, friend and father a gal could ask for.  I really hit the jackpot with this one.  He is my best friend!  No matter how many spats or challenges we've faced through the years, I know I can always count on him for advice, protection and pure love.  How he has put up with me amazes me!

Happy Birthday Steve!  I love ya!  xoxoxo

Steve's 40th Birthday

Steve turned the BIG 40 on 2/26/12 - one week after Lottie's big birthday.  I knew that if I didn't start planning his birthday well in advance, that he would be left out in the cold after trying to prepare for Lottie's big day.

Steve is a HUGE sports fanatic - He LOVES English football (soccer) and LOVES hockey!  Those are his two faves!  We've taken several trips in the past to Raleigh to watch the Carolina Hurricanes play (NHL team).  Thankfully it worked out they were playing in Raleigh on Saturday, the 25th.

I sent a mass e-mail out to Steve's buddies to see if they would be interested in taking a little trip to Raleigh to watch the game and I got a great response.  I wanted to keep everything a surprise and thankfully the group was onboard and didn't blow it.

I got my BFF's mom to keep Lottie for the night and Steve and I headed up to Raleigh.  We ended up meeting the group in a little restaurant beside the RBC Center.  Everyone was there and Steve was blown away.  He claims he had no idea.  He kept saying how surprised he was and how happy he was!  YAY - pulled it off!

All in all, it was great to get away with friends!!!  Hope you had a great birthday Steve!!!  :)

My bro-in-law decided this would be a perfect time for a quick nap.......

He's back in it!
